We have recently opened an additional ‘Emporium’ showroom. The light and airy new space, is stocked with Vintage and Antique furniture pieces, items ‘Up-Cycled’ by students and volunteers in its workshop, plus quality china, vintage linen, and a range of home-made and re-cycled items.
Commenting on their new venture, 9 Lives’ Manager Marie Frost explained: “we have increasingly found the need for a dedicated space to display the high quality and vintage pieces to their best advantage. The Emporium will also give our students the chance to showcase their work”. Asked about “Up-cycling”, Marie explained: “Students have free reign to sand down or strip, and then paint, wax or decorate small items which have been donated by the public. Tired or dated pieces can be completely transformed using skills that students develop during our 10-week Furniture Restoration course”.
